The Battalion\u2019s commitment to \u201cMission First\u201d is selfless and total.<\/p>\n<p>The Battalion fought in World War II, Korea, and Vietnam and participated in Operations Desert Shield and Desert Storm in Southwest Asia; Operation Restore Hope in Somalia; Operation Enduring Freedom in Afghanistan; and Operation Iraqi Freedom.<\/p>\n<p>The 3d Battalion, 11<sup>th<\/sup>\u00a0Marines (3\/11) Association is an informal association of Marines and Sailors who have served in, or have been attached to, 3\/11 and who later decided they wanted to maintain the camaraderie and friendships they had developed on active duty.\u00a0 The 3\/11 Association includes veterans of the wars and conflicts mentioned above, as well as currently serving 3\/11 Marines and their families.\u00a0 The 3\/11 Association has held annual reunions in different cities around the United States since 2006 (except for 2020 due to the pandemic).\u00a0 The 3\/11 Foundation\u2019s Annual Meetings are held
